Implementation and Discovery
When endpoints are discovered, you can see the inventory information for the endpoints in the Absolute console.
When you discover the devices, it allows you to perform inventory and configuration tasks, vulnerability scanning and fixing, patch management, and software distribution on the devices.
From the technical point of view, discovery is the search of the devices within a given IP range. When discovery is over, and the devices are found, the Absolute agent is implemented on them, and they appear in the console.
There are several methods you can use to discover devices:
- Create a Discovery task, specifying the IP range
- Download the agent manually from the cloud and install it on necessary devices
- Use group policy (GPO)
