Reboot

After various patch and application installations, it can be necessary to reboot devices to enable the proper functioning of the deployment. For patch deployments, forcing a reboot after deployment is strongly recommended.

When creating tasks within the console, several options are available. Check the guided walk-thoughs below.

Important Information

You can include a reboot within a deployment task, in addition to a standalone reboot task;

A reboot can be made on a device-by-device basis from the right-click menu.

'Reboot UI Config' options are available within the Settings area.

These settings will auto-populate any task where a reboot is forced.

On a task level, the 'Reboot UI Config' settings can be changed to deviate from the default settings.

Reboot UI is a pop-up user interface that allows you to configure all reboot settings.

Click on 'Settings' in bottom-left corner of the main menu > 'Advanced' > Click on 'Reboot UI Config' under Custom Settings

Customize the Reboot Message

This message will be displayed to users when the reboot dialog appears.

Add Your Company Logo

Enter the URL where your company's logo is stored. Once provided, the logo will be shown in the reboot message interface.

The logo file must not exceed 20 KB in size.

Set the Initial Reboot Timer

Define how long the user has before the system reboots automatically. This timer starts as soon as the reboot message is displayed on the device.

If no action is taken by the user, the system will reboot once the timer expires.

Set this timer to at least 30 minutes to give users adequate time to respond.

Allow or Deny User

Allow or deny the logged-on user the option to cancel the reboot

Clicking 'Cancel' does not delay the reboot - it stops all further reboot messages for the task.

Snooze Option

Choose whether users are allowed to postpone the reboot.

The 'Snooze Timer' - frequency or how often the 'Snooze' option appears.

The 'Snooze Count' - how many times the end-user can click 'Snooze'.
