Ping

The Ping option allows to test the connectivity status of an endpoint by attempting to establish communication through either a resident agent or a vRep-assisted method. It is a vital tool for diagnosing device availability.

The Ping function is used to:

• Determine whether a device is currently online and responsive
• Check if the Absolute agent is actively connected resident
• Attempt fallback communication using the vRep if the agent is not resident
