Delete/Archive
• 2 min to read •
Devices that have been archived no longer consume a license. All the devices discovered earlier than a preset period, are archived automatically. You can also archive devices manually with the possibility to restore them if needed.
Syxsense also allows you to manually delete archives of the decommissioned devices that are already out of use, either leaving a database record about it in place or removing it completely. In the case of such deletion, there is no chance to restore the removed data.
When removing devices from the Syxsense console, it is always an option to archive the device(s) instead of deleting them from the console.
We highly encourage archiving devices instead of completely removing them. Archiving a device will keep the device history in the console but will reclaim a license seat for use by another device. Removing a device from the Syxsense console is simple: from the Devices menu, highlight one or more devices for removal. Then, from the toolbar, select the 'Delete/Archive' menu item.
Archived devices are listed under the Unmanaged Devices list at the bottom of the Devices list.
Important Information The device must be connected to the console to uninstall the agent. Multiple devices can be uninstalled at the same time, use the Shift key to multiple select. Device history can be archived or deleted. Archived device history does not consume a license. |
